Announcing the 2021 ISF Virtual Reception Keynote Speaker
Security expert Susan Gordon, former Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, is the keynote speaker for the 2021 ISF Virtual Reception on November 17, 2021 at 5 PM EST. The global virtual event, hosted by the ISF during OSAC’s virtual Annual Briefing week, celebrates OSAC’s private-public partnership with the OSAC Awards and celebrates the ISF’s 10th anniversary.
Ms. Gordon was the U.S.’s number two intelligence official, overseeing the country’s entire intelligence community. During her tenure, she integrated intelligence, expanded outreach and partnerships and advanced diversity and inclusion throughout the community. A hallmark of her creative, transformative leadership was digital innovation. She spearheaded the formation of the nonprofit In-Q-Tel in 1998 to accelerate the development and delivery of cutting-edge technologies to national security agencies.
Prior to her role in National Intelligence, Ms. Gordon was the Deputy Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency from 2015 to 2017 and was instrumental in driving the NGA’s transformation to meet the challenges of a 21st-century intelligence agency. She was at the CIA for 27 years and was involved in some of the most monumental operations in U.S. history, including the raid of Osama Bin Laden. During her CIA tenure, she rose to senior executive positions in each of the Agency’s four directorates: operations, analysis, science and technology and support.
Ms. Gordon has been recognized for her creative executive leadership through numerous awards, including the Presidential Rank Award at the distinguished level. She holds a B.S. in zoology (biomechanics) from Duke University.
We look forward to her unique insights into today’s evolving world, the necessity of new technologies and ongoing collaboration, and the importance of honing the crafts of innovation and leadership to successfully build our future.
