ISF LEADER SPOTLIGHT: Facebook
As one of the International Security Foundation’s (ISF) newest corporate sponsors, Facebook has quickly become one the most generous. Last November, with a sponsorship gift of $50,000, Facebook was the Diamond Sponsor for the 2020 ISF Virtual Reception: Celebrating 35 Years of OSAC.
We spoke with Nick Lovrien, CPP, Facebook’s Chief Global Security Officer and OSAC Council member, about Facebook’s leadership support.
WHY DOES FACEBOOK SUPPORT OSAC THROUGH THE ISF?
Every day, Facebook’s global security organization works to ensure that our work is aligned with Facebook’s mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. That’s what Sec. Shultz envisioned in 1985 when he founded the premier public-private partnership that is OSAC.
The network OSAC has created is like no other in global security. OSAC’s real-time information, reports and networking are essential to protecting the Facebook family. We’re 120,000+ personnel at 160+ facilities in 100+ countries across our companies that include Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Oculus, Portal, Calibra and Workplace.
WHY IS SUPPORT NEEDED, ESPECIALLY NOW?
As we continue to manage during the pandemic and begin to understand what operations post-pandemic will be, it remains incredibly inspiring to see how the global security community showcases and relies on OSAC. Since January 2020, OSAC’s response to the pandemic is fitting recognition to the enduring service it has given the global security community for over 35 years, in times of crisis and peace.
Facebook’s gifts to the ISF in support of OSAC have never been more important. We must continue to work together to enhance OSAC’s mission and vision.
THANK YOU, FACEBOOK, FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP!
