6th Annual MENA RC Conference
On May 21-22, 2019, the Middle East and North Africa Regional Council (MENA RC) hosted its 6th annual conference at Northeastern University in Boston. With the theme of “Navigating an Altered Landscape,” security experts from around the globe presented and led discussions on timely issues facing any OSAC member with operations in the Middle East and North Africa. More than 167 people attended.
Launched in 2014, the MENA RC hosts annual conferences, a Google group and other networking and benchmarking opportunities. The group also publishes resources on industry best practices, including Results for the 5th Annual MENA RC Conference Business Resilience Exercises, which can be found in the Resource Library at www.osac.gov.
Ryan Wildes, MENA RC Private Sector Co-Chair and Manager, International Risk Management at Partners HealthCare, and Bill Gannon, MENA RC Public Sector Co-Chair and Special Agent in Charge, Boston, U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service, and their tireless volunteer committee created an impressive two days of information sharing and networking.
The MENA RC event was preceded by OSAC’s Women in Security: Boston event, which was well attended. Of note, fifty percent of the MENA RC speakers at the 6th annual conference were female, a testament to the impact of the WiS efforts and to the diversity already championed by the MENA RC.
